Supplier Update: COVID-19 National

 

Dear Valued Coles Supplier,

 

The pandemic continues to cause significant impacts and unprecedented challenges for us all. We are grateful for the support and the hard work your teams continue to undertake in order to manage these impacts.

 

Like many of our suppliers, Coles has seen more of our team members required to isolate due to high rates of community infection and household contacts. As a result, our operations have been impacted and longer lead times are being experienced throughout the supply chain.

 

This may cause some inbound delays at our DCs, and in some cases we may request changes to delivery bookings. We may also reach out to explore temporary supply changes to help us unlock supply chain capacity so we can all get our operations back to normal as fast as possible. Please be assured that we will not make these types of changes without your agreement.

 

In order to provide our customers with the best product availability in these challenging times, we are working to streamline operational flow and ask for your continued support in the following areas:

Order Plans 

- Review your Order Plan daily to identify any changes to our network via the supplier portal

 

Open Communication 

- Ensure business contacts are available to both provide and receive timely communication updates for order changes
- Promptly inform your relevant Coles Supply Chain and Category contact of any stock delays, availability issues or changes to deliveries

 

In-Store Support 

- Ensure Supplier Field Reps support store teams by continuing to merchandise stock on shelves, building promotional ends and implementing layouts as per current guidelines
- Ensure Supplier Field Reps visit stores at appropriate times of the day and engage stores on how they can best support trade

 

By working collaboratively with our supplier partners, we are confident that together we can sustainably feed all Australians during these uncertain times.
